What We Thought

Giana lit up like a Christmas tree at this kit. She is girly from Head to Toe and loves fashion accessories. She enjoys making things, and being creative, like most kids. She was delighted to make hair-bows, headbands, hair clippies, and she loved all the flowers, jewels, and feathers.

The kit was not very big, but not too small. It comes with easy to follow directions with picture illustrations. We sat down with Brynna (my best friends little girl) and Gigi and set to work right away. The girls dove in and didn't even fight once. That's rare with that many pretty things up for grabs. Giana (Gigi) is 7 and Brynna is almost 5.
I was worried about the glue being strong enough to hold some of the things together, but I was wrong. It works just fine.  It was my birthday so Giana got to make me a gift! She is very artsy and craftsy and she did a great job! See the photos below.  Overall I give this kit an A+. It was easy, quick and painless and it made something we will definitely use.
Too cute!

            Mossy Meadows Gnome Garden

" Everything you need to create an enchanting home for 3 wee gnomes. This all-inclusive garden craft kit includes a garden dish, potting mix, wheat grass seeds, bark house, leaf-shaped pond, mossy rocks, stepping stones, resin gnomes, toadstools, ladybugs, paint, brush and a mister - just add water and a little sunshine! The garden dish measures 11"w x 2"d. The natural wheat grass seeds are pet friendly and sprout in just a few days."

What We Thought

We thought the painting to be a little immature for our kids, so I painted it. I tried to mimic what was printed on the box, and considering the brush included wasn't the best, I did as good as I could. I tried to keep it child-like a little bit, but not too sloppy. I love to paint, that the only reason I say the brush. Mine are locked away in the garage, so I just used what it came with.  This little garden's quality impressed me from the start. The box it comes in is very sturdy and screams "BUY ME" with it's whimsical gnome garden pictured on it. When you pull it out of the box, it comes with a pretty efficient instructions for starting your Mossy Gnome Garden. The success lies in the details, the mossy "rocks" and the house (whose roof you craft by gluing tiny leaves on it's roof). It was precious, and adorable. It took a little longer than I thought it would, but that was a lot of painting and gluing Giana showed me which colors to use where, and I did it for her. Her painting hand is not too steady, you see. ;)
She then set to work building the house. Brynna started painting the rocks too.
When I got it painted, we waited for it to dry. It didn't take too long, we let it sit about 10 minutes.
We poured the "dirt" in, and Giana shoved sees in appropriate places into the soil. She misted it with the provided spray bottle and started setting up the gnomes. I have to tell you, these gnomes are so detailed to be so small. They are really cute.
I like the little leaf the one gnomes sits on. You can also sit him on the roof.
The part I didn't like was the Styrofoam mushrooms, but only because the broke too easy. The one that didn't break (we painted both of them) blew across our yard with a strong gust. Other than that- there were no issues with the garden.
It looks quaint sitting on my porch now, out in the sun.. with it's beautiful grass, that started growing about 6 days later, and is now very tall.
If you win this, you will be lucky, because of the two, this craft kit was my our favorite. :)
