Holiday Gift Guide - Famous Daves Tanner #win a bottle by 10/30

Famous Daves Tanner hooked me up, and let me pick my favorite product on their website to review. Although I live on the Atlantic Coast, and go the beach constantly.. all that sun can be bad for your skin. Dry you out- make you age faster.. and that's not something I'm trying to do anytime soon, you know what I mean?

That being said.. I have always appreciated and have tried many self tanners in my time.

The pictures in this post are all after using the tanner sent. What do you think? Do I look orange? Does it look unnatural?

HECK NO! And you know the funniest part? My little girl told me when it came in the mail (she is 7) that:

"Mom! Only little girls on Toddlers & Tiaras wear spray tan!"

LOL!  My silly child, she thinks I'm old!

I chose the Mist tan Spray Tan I like that it isn't an aerosol can, because they don't seem to have many uses in them. This bottle, I can tell- will last a long while.

The best part is this neat little glove they sent with it!

I'm a huge fan of this glove- and have told many of my girlfriends how much easier it has made the applying experience.

Usually I get it all over my hands and make a daggum mess with it, but not with this thing!

It makes application a breeze. I'm not even ambidextrous , so the fact that I can use it and apply with both hands is cool too.

Its a neat little soft mitt you slip your hand in that has a suede-ish feel to it, and the tanning solution that came in the spray bottle is slightly visible so you can tell where you have applied it already.

Plus it doesn't wash off and transfer to your clothing. But I would still "air dry" (naked) for an hour before putting any on. (Clothes) Hey, another excuse to be naked, I'll take it!

This part is important: ALWAYS exfoliate before applying self-tanner. You can do so in the shower with a shower pouf or if you have a body scrub that will work better.

 One thing I can tell you from my experience with self-tanners is never apply it to your hands or the pale side of your wrists. Apply it lightly to elbows and knees, and wipe off excess from elbows and knees with a dry cloth/paper towel after application. Just enough to leave SOME of it on, but not too much! It can settle in the knees and elbow "cracks" and look quite silly if not wiped out. Always scrub your hands thoroughly when finished. OH! And don't put it on your feet. I stop just above my ankles, and you can't tell at all! You can use the cloth you wiped your hands, elbows & knees with to spread it on the TOP (only!) part of your foot, but don't get too close to those little piggies!
